Bio: Matt Turner is a 28-year-old USMNT goalkeeper who plays professionally for Arsenal FC in the English Premier League. Turner was born on June 24, 1994 in Park Ridge, N.J., and transferred to Arsenal this summer after playing for the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer and the Richmond Kickers in USL League 1.

Form heading into World Cup: After starting 2022 in Major League Soccer with the New England Revolution, Turner had 1 clean sheet in 5 league matches. This summer, Turner made the move across the pond to the Premier League’s Arsenal FC. Since joining the Gunners, he hasn’t gotten any time in the league serving as Aaron Ramsdale’s backup, but has gotten 4 starts in the Europa League where he has 3 shutouts and only conceded on a penalty. Turner has had some injury troubles as of late, not playing since October 20 with groin problems.
