LISTEN TO TRAILER:
Like millions of you, I adore "Succession." The manic takeovers, eye watering putdowns, fleeting glimpses of humanity smothered by greed, aspiration, desperate cries for attention and Shiv Roy Power Turtlenecks. Tolstoy wrote in Anna Karenina: "All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." The Roy family is the exception. Their unhappiness is so vast, it seems to encompass the sum unhappiness of every other family in the world. Living proof that it is possible to have everything and nothing. I truly believe the show's performances, the writing, the humanity make Succession like "Game of Thrones" without the dragons and direwolves. Warring families, self-destructive fights for power, and epic battle scenes. Albeit, ones fought out in the boardroom and not at Castle Winterfell.
