In case there was any misunderstanding that we peddle only the most unoriginal of commentary, we humbly present this Dr. Pepper ad from a May 1, 1976 edition of Kick Magazine. (Thanks to GFOP Paul Sepp over at Dropping Timber for sharing)
“The most original soft drink ever teams up with the sport whose time has come. Dr. Pepper believes soccer has quite a future in America.”
In this week’s newsletter, a GFOP enlightens us to the First World War Poetry Digital Archive. It’s a treasure trove of prose that even includes a few photos, like the above women’s munitions workers’ football team from the AEC Munitions Factory at Beckton, London.
Further proof that Everton is America’s Team. GFOP John unearthed this beaut from his linen closet. He writes, “It’s a proper towel for Boddington’s spills.” We’ll ignore the fact that he and his wife are Manchester United supporters.
